Books

What is a library without books? Well fortunately you don’t have to worry about the answer, because we’ve got plenty of books here at Shenstone Library.

Shenstone Community Library remains part of Staffordshire Libraries, which means that our collection is their collection, so we have access to every single book in the Staffordshire Library service.

We stock over 5000 books, including brand new books and a selection of audiobooks at all times here at Shenstone Library so there’s always plenty to choose from.

How to Borrow our Books

In order to borrow any of our books you have to first become a member of Shenstone Library.  You can do that by filling in the form on our Become a Member page or by popping in to the Library.

Once you have your library card, you can borrow to your hearts content!

FAQs about our Books

Below you can find answers to our most frequently asked questions regarding borrowing books.

How many books can I borrow at once?

You can borrow as many books as you like once you have your Library Card.  So if you’re off on holiday and need a couple more to keep you busy as you lounge round the pool simply borrow an extra book or two!

Can I renew my books?

You can renew a library book as long as it hasn’t already been requested by someone else.  For more information on renewing your books and how to do it click here

Can I request a book?

Yes, you can request any book that’s available in the Staffordshire Libraries collection and we’ll get in delivered to Shenstone and let you know when it’s arrived. Please note, there is a 50p charge per book request payable to the library.

How long can I borrow a book for?

You can borrow most books for a period of 3 weeks.  You can either return the book or renew it.  Some books arte classed as ‘Quick Reads’ which are only available to borrow a week at a time and cannot be renewed.  The Quick Read books will always be clearly labelled.

Do you stock audiobooks?

Yes, we stock a great selection of audiobooks for you to borrow at Shenstone Library.  And if we don’t have what you need here then as a library member you can get access to any audio book in the Staffordshire Libraries Catalogue.

Access to the whole Staffordshire Library

While we have a fantastic selection of books here at Shenstone Community Library, as a member you also get access to the whole of the Staffordshire Libraries catalogue of books and audiobooks which means that you have 1000’s of books available to borrow, all for free.

The Staffordshire Libraries Catalogue can be found here and you will be able to search for the book you’d like by title, author or genre.  You can even reserve the books online or add them to you own shortlist if you log in.
